Two years on and we have been fundraising in lots of different ways:-

Summer Fayres, Christmas shows, sponsored skips, competitions and competition hosting, raffles, leotard sales, tombolas and now the 'BUY A BRICK CAMPAIGN' members, parents and friends of Coalville Gymnastics Club are buying a brick for 50p. They then sign the brick of their choice on the board, or put a message to the club if they've bought a section of bricks. When the board is full and the building complete, the board will be framed and placed in reception.

Detailed plans are now in progress and brick samples are being assessed, thanks to the help of Ibstock Brick. The Building Extension Focus Group will meet regularly to make advisory suggestions to the Committee for decision at comittee level. The focus group is made up of professionals in the building trade and members of the club's committee.

Building Project News

On the 4th May 2006 Coalville Gymnastics Club received news that the Planning Application submitted for the new two-storey extension to the premises had been approved. Grant applications and fund raising activities are well underway.

The new two-storey extension will house a new reception area, and changing rooms and toilets for boys and girls. On the first floor there will be a new training room, a kit room, coaches office and a parents lounge, toilets and viewing gallery.

The old reception, office and changing rooms area will make way for a new, foam pitted area for an adjustable high bar, a new set of ‘A’ bars and a new beam with a dismount into a foam pit.

In March '09 the foundations were dug out, the foundations laid and the concrete slab laid. April saw the walls being built to first floor level. The next phase will take us up to roof height and seal the new build against the weather.
